Georgian Pines Sepia Dark

When I came to Canada many decades ago, it was the natural beauty of the Canadian landscape that pulled me in. It was along the mighty Bruce Trail that I bonded with the land, the rock formations, and islands. The fresh deep waters took my breath away. Here I have tried to capture the scent and the wind off the lake in the splattered paint.

How to interpret

• The splattered paint works to capture the experience of our intangible senses, the feeling of the wind off of water and the scent of its spray 
• Darkness is used to draw focus to the sky, water, and trees, combining the natural elements as the shared focal point of the piece 
• The use of neutral, natural tones throughout grants the piece cohesion between all of its individual parts
